- •Bundle Rounding: Shingles are sold only in whole bundles. If your takeoff calls for 30.1 squares (90.3 bundles), you MUST buy 91 bundles (30.33 squares).
- •Underlayment Roll Sizes: Synthetic underlayment usually comes in 10-square rolls (1,000 sq ft), while 15# felt comes in 4-square rolls (400 sq ft).
- •Waste Factors: Low waste factors (< 8%) on complex roofs result in running short on material before reaching the ridge cap.

- Always round up to the nearest whole bundle. Most home improvement stores and roofing supply houses do not sell partial bundles.
