Privacy Policy
Effective Date: September 18, 2026 • RoofCalc Platform
At RoofCalc (accessible at https://roofcalc.org), one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This Privacy Policy document outlines the types of information collected, stored, and utilized by RoofCalc and how we comply with global privacy frameworks, including CCPA and GDPR regulations.
1. Client-Side Calculation Privacy
RoofCalc is built with a client-first privacy architecture. All roof measurements, square footage values, pitch ratios, labor rates, and custom cost inputs entered into our calculators are processed locally inside your web browser.
We do not save, transmit, or monetize your private project dimensions or financial estimates on external servers. Your calculation data remains entirely on your device.
2. Log Files and Web Analytics
Like most standard web platforms, RoofCalc follows a standard procedure of using log files and aggregate privacy-preserving analytics. These files log visitors when they visit web pages. The information collected includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and number of clicks.
This information is not linked to any personally identifiable information. The purpose is to analyze trends, administer the site, track user movements, and ensure server infrastructure stability.
3. Google DoubleClick & AdSense Cookies
RoofCalc may partner with third-party advertising providers, including Google AdSense. Google is a third-party vendor that uses cookies (such as the DART cookie) to serve ads based upon a user's prior visits to our website or other websites on the internet.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to our website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet.
- Users may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings or AboutAds.info.
4. Local Browser Preferences
We use browser localStorage solely to remember your preferred measurement units (Imperial feet vs. Metric meters) across sessions. This storage is completely non-tracking and remains on your local browser.
5. California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Rights
Under the CCPA, California consumers have the right to request disclosure of categories of personal information collected, request deletion of personal information, and opt out of the sale of personal data. RoofCalc does not sell personal information.
